The tuberculosis (TB) sanatorium at Howell, Michigan was established in 1905 by Public Act 254 of 1905. Until the 1940's, the treatment for TB revolved around providing general medical care and performing surgical procedures. With the development of streptomycin (1944), the treatment of TB changed dramatically.
